Aurora kinase inhibitor table updated

February 1, 2007 · No Comments

I’ve made some improvements to the Aurora kinase table based on feedback. I’ve added in some structures (thanks kinaspro!); added in a couple of new companies that I’ve found working in this area and, more importantly added in US patent applications as well as granted patents.

Do feel free to send me comments and suggestions at info [at] crimsoncanary.com Also if you have any ideas for other targets or disease areas to track let me know and I’ll see what I can do :)

Aurora kinase inhibitors

January 18, 2007 · No Comments

Attached is a link to a new analysis that I have done on Aurora Kinase inhibitors. The Aurora kinase is one of the hottest kinase targets around at the moment, inhibitors having the potential as anti-cancer drugs. Most advanced in this area is Vertex with it’s drug VX-680 in Phase II trials for colorectal cancer. Hot on Vertex’s heels are Nerviano, Astex and AstraZeneca, all with promising compounds in clinical development.

In terms of intellectual property Vertex leads the pack with AstraZeneca and Cyclacel also having impressing aurora kinase inhibitor portfolios. It’s important to note however that there are many potential patents out there that probably do not mention aurora kinase specificity - so judgements based on the number of patents listed needed to be made with caution.

Information for this table has been found by searching the internet; WIPO and USPTO patent sites; and PubMed. Please do feel free to let me know if you find this table usefuel, have any further information to add or have any other suggestions about how the information could be displayed.
