Searching for PCT (WIPO) patents

February 23, 2007 · Leave a Comment

I have to say that the more I use it the more impressed I am with the WIPO patent search interface and the options available to manage results. It rather leaves the USPTO site standing in its wake (not ofcourse that there is a shortage of other interfaces to US patent data).

One of the best features of the WIPO site is that having found your search results you can grab an RSS feed of your search results and therefore keep updated with new patents.

Vanilloid Receptor (TRPV) agonists and antagonists in development

February 14, 2007 · 1 Comment

Attached is a link to the latest competitor information I’ve pulled together on Vanilloid receptor (TRPV) ligands. It includes information on patents related to TRPV1, TRPV2, TRPV3, TRPV4, TRPV5 and TRPV6. In this table each patent is individually linked (the longer search string made it difficult to save search strings as URLs).

As with all my work I welcome feedback.

I hope you find this useful!

Human Metabolome Database

February 2, 2007 · Leave a Comment

The Human Metabolome Database is a database of information about small molecule metabolites found in the human body. It is maintained by a team at the University of Alberta, Canada.

It links to three kinds of data: 1) chemical data, 2) clinical data, and 3) molecular biology/biochemistry data.  There are currently over 2100 metabolite entries, linked to over 5500 protein (and DNA) sequences

More information about the project can be found here.

Aurora kinase inhibitor table updated

February 1, 2007 · Leave a Comment

I’ve made some improvements to the Aurora kinase table based on feedback. I’ve added in some structures (thanks kinaspro!); added in a couple of new companies that I’ve found working in this area and, more importantly added in US patent applications as well as granted patents.

Do feel free to send me comments and suggestions at info [at] crimsoncanary.com Also if you have any ideas for other targets or disease areas to track let me know and I’ll see what I can do :)
